Incident Investigation


Unfortunately, accidents and incidents happen in all aquatic environments. Royal Life Saving is able to investigate and audit the safety systems and processes associated with an event using its team of dedicated subject matter experts.

It is important to note that the review is not aimed at attributing blame and / or fault to any party involved in a given accident / incident. Instead, the intention is to better understand what happened, how it happened and to establish what measures can be taken to reduce the likelihood or consequence of the same thing happening in the future.


  • Assess compliance and potential legal exposure following an incident.

  • Gain an understanding of the level of compliance with WHS/OHS legislation.

  • Learn from mistakes and improve systems.

  • Demonstrate remorse and improvement in the event of serious injury or death.

  • Operate in line with coronial recommendations.
