SwimVac

Royal Life Saving NSW School Holiday Program 
Program Dates: 12th - 23rd January 2026

Overview

Aligned to the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework and Swim & Survive

program, SwimVAC programs encompass nationally recognised swimming and

water safety benchmarks teaching swimming and personal safety skills to children

of all skill abilities. 

Royal Life Saving NSW is proud to deliver free learn-to-swim lessons as part of the NSW Government Learn to Swim for At-Risk Communities initiative. SwimVAC, is designed for children aged 3 to 14 years, with a particular focus on achieving the national swimming and water safety benchmarks for 6 and 12 year olds. Lessons will be offered in preschool, beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, running as a two week intensive program during 12th-23rd January 2026.

Our SwimVAC program for 2026  includes:   

  • Daily intensive swimming lessons delivered over two weeks

  • Parent/Carer and Preschool classes (30 minutes) and School Age classes (45 minutes)

  • A Nationally Accredited Swimming and Water Safety Program suitable for children of all ability levels

  • Fully aligned with the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework

  • Swim & Survive curriculum, lesson plans and certificates provided by Royal Life Saving

  • Access to parent support resources

  • Participants must attend at least 8 of the 10 lessons, complete a pre and post program survey and keep a valid card on file. A $100 fee will apply for missed lessons without a valid reason. 

  • Please note that funding does not apply to programs in Cessnock and Branxton. These centres will continue to run programs; however, participation will be on a paid basis of $50 per week.

  • Unfortunately, Nyngan and Lightning Ridge were not included in our funding. Platform and Co. are operating free lessons in these area. For further information, please contact them at admin@platformandco.com.au

  • Please note: Parent/Carer lessons are not including in the funding.
