Royal Life Saving presents Commendation Awards each year to those people who have displayed outstanding initiative, expertise, and empathy towards their fellow human beings by applying lifesaving skills in emergency situations and sometimes at risk to themselves.
Commendations are awarded to members of the general public in addition to emergency services personnel including the New South Wales Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State of Emergency Services.
