The Royal Life Saving Society works to prevent drowning and ensure that all waterways can be enjoyed safely by all Australians. Royal Life Saving (RLS) has a goal of achieving a 50% reduction in the number of drowning deaths by the year 2024. It is only through coordinated, locally driven campaigns and partnerships that we are we able to accomplish this.

 

Royal Life Saving’s Community Educators play a vital role in enabling the organisation to achieve our objectives. Through the delivery of interactive water safety presentations and workshops, Community Educators work directly with NSW communities to help build fundamental water safety knowledge and skills and saves lives.

 

Community Educators deliver a range of programs targetted to different audience groups, all centered around drowning prevention education.

Our programs are currently being delivered face to face and online depending on the requirements of community groups and schools.

 

The following are essential criteria for interested applicants:

 

· Enjoy working in the community and sharing information with others

· Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.

· Excellent computer skills and familiarity with running presentations via zoom.

· Ability to engage with and relate to children and their parents.

· The ability to tailor body language and expression to suit community members of different ages.

· Current paid Employee Working with Children’s Check.

· Up to date COVID vaccinations.

· Current driver’s license and car.

· Computer with strong, reliable internet, audio and video capabilities.
