Apply for a Transfer
To transfer an existing Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification from another provider, follow these simple steps:

Complete the transfer application form in its entirety

Provide your current skillsets to be added to your licence (e.g. statement of attainment for Swimming & water safety teacher)

Provide your licence from the previous RTO (front and back)

Provide a Current HLTAID001 or HLTAID009 ‐ Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualification

Current (paid) Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Renew your Licence
If your licence with a third-party provider is due to expire, you can renew your licence withRoyal Life Saving and obtain a Swim Teacher Licence.

Complete the renewal application form in its entirety

Provide your current skillsets to be added to your licence (e.g. statement of attainment for Swimming & Water Safety Teacher)

Provide your licence from previous RTO (front and back)

Demonstrating evidence of Professional Development of (12 x PD sessions over 3 years) and Practical Teacher Hours (40 hours over 3 years)

Current (paid) Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Please note: We accept your previous PD requirements from the past RTO to renew with us then we follow the GSPO guidelines of 12 Professional Development (PD) sessions over 3 years. SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescue unit needs to be updated once every 3 years once you have licenced with RLS as a PD.
Supervisor who signs off your licence is to hold a Workplace Supervisor licence with RLS.
