Renew, transfer or apply for a Royal Life Saving
Swim Teacher Licence

Apply for a New Licence

To submit your licence application for a Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher qualification, follow these easy steps:

Apply for Licence

  1. Ensure your online and face to face assessment has been completed

  2. The application is completed in its entirety and submitted in good condition

  3. Current (paid) Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  4. NB Supervisor who signs off your licence is to hold a Workplace Supervisor licence with RLS.

Apply for a Transfer

To transfer an existing Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification from another provider, follow these simple steps:

Transfer Licence
  1. Complete the transfer application form in its entirety

  2. Provide your current skillsets to be added to your licence (e.g. statement of attainment for Swimming & water safety teacher)

  3. Provide your licence from the previous RTO (front and back)

  4. Provide a Current HLTAID001 or HLTAID009 ‐ Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualification

  5. Current (paid) Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Renew your Licence

If your licence with a third-party provider is due to expire, you can renew your licence withRoyal Life Saving and obtain a Swim Teacher Licence.

Renew Licence
  1. Complete the renewal application form in its entirety

  2. Provide your current skillsets to be added to your licence (e.g. statement of attainment for Swimming & Water Safety Teacher)

  3.  Provide your licence from previous RTO (front and back)

  4.  Provide a Current HLTAID001 or HLTAID009 ‐ Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualification

  5.  Demonstrating evidence of Professional Development of (12 x PD sessions over 3 years) and Practical Teacher Hours (40 hours over 3 years)

  6.  Current (paid) Working with Children Check (WWCC)

 

Please note:  We accept your previous PD requirements from the past RTO to renew with us then we follow the GSPO guidelines of 12 Professional Development (PD) sessions over 3 years. SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescue unit needs to be updated once every 3 years once you have licenced with RLS as a PD.

Supervisor who signs off your licence is to hold a Workplace Supervisor licence with RLS.
