LIFESAVING TEACHER
Initial Licensing Requirements
In order to become a Licensed Lifesaving Teacher with Royal Life Saving an invidivual must submit an application with the following valid evidence:
1. Teaching
One of the following teaching qualifications:
Bachelor of Education or Registered School Teacher or;
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or;
SISSS00112 Swimming and Water Safety Teacher
2. Working with Children
A Current Working with Children Check (for Paid Employment) for working within your respective state/territory
3. Resuscitation
One of the following resusctiation qualifications:
A current HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Statement of Attainment (or any Statement of Attainment that includes this unit, and is less than 12 months old) or;
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid (accepted in the first 12 months only)
4. Lifesaving
One of the following lifesaving qualifications*:
Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion
SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescue
Royal Life Saving Teacher of Lifesaving*
* N.B. Individuals who are Bronze Facilitators and have been current between 2019 to 2021 do not require this step
Cost:
The Cost of the annual Lifesaving Teacher Licence is $50. This includes the following:
