LIFESAVING TEACHER

In order to become a Licensed Lifesaving Teacher with Royal Life Saving an invidivual must submit an application with the following valid evidence:


1. Teaching

One of the following teaching qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Education or Registered School Teacher or;

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or;

  • SISSS00112 Swimming and Water Safety Teacher


2. Working with Children

A Current Working with Children Check (for Paid Employment) for working within your respective state/territory


3. Resuscitation

One of the following resusctiation qualifications:


  •  A current HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Statement of Attainment (or any Statement of Attainment that includes this unit, and is less than 12 months old) or; 

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid (accepted in the first 12 months only)


4. Lifesaving 

One of the following lifesaving qualifications*:


  • Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion

  • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescue

  • Royal Life Saving Teacher of Lifesaving*

* N.B. Individuals who are Bronze Facilitators and have been current between 2019 to 2021 do not require this step


Cost:


The Cost of the annual Lifesaving Teacher Licence is $50. This includes the following:


  • Membership with Royal Life Saving

  • Your Own Lifesaving Teacher Account

  • Access to the Professional Development Portal

  • Access to the Lifesaving Teaching Portal

  • Access to over 40 Teaching Videos

  • Access to Lifesaving Teacher resources

  • Access to the Lifesaving Teacher Group Chat

  • Monthly Newsletter

  • Regular Lifesaving Teacher Updates
