Aquatic Risk Team undertake safety assessment at the iconic Bondi Icebergs

The Aquatic Risk Team are well equipped to undertake safety assessments at a range of swimming venues, including public swimming pools, hotel and resort pools, swimming enclosures in rivers and lakes, as well as our iconic ocean baths.

The management of Bondi Icebergs invited the RLS Risk Team to undertake a facility safety assessment assessing the ocean baths design, accessibility, safety standards as well as it’s clubs' unique swimming programs.

The Icebergs LTS School offers lessons in an outdoor setting in a 17m learn to swim saltwater pool, where lessons are held in a 1:3 teacher-to-child ratio.

The Bondi Icebergs is the only licensed Winter Swimming Club in the world, dating back to 1929 & owing its origin to a band of local lifesavers with a desire to maintain their fitness during the Winter months.

The band of lifesavers formed the Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club, drew up a constitution and elected office bearers. To maintain membership, they created "Rule 15B", declaring it mandatory for swimmers to compete on three out of four Sundays for a period of five years.

The partnership between the Bondi Icebergs and Royal Life Saving demonstrates the club's desire to maintain and improve its aquatic safety standards for its members and visitors.
